Hit the beach…in the city!
If you thought that Paris was in the heart of France and too far from the beach, think again! In the months of July and August, the Paris Plages project hits the banks of the Seine, with tons of sand transported into the areas between the Louvre and Pont de Sully, as well as from Rotonde de Ledoux to the former Magasins Généraux to make faux beaches for the summer season. There are deckchairs, plam trees, food stands, music festivals and even a bouncy castle, so dig out your bucket and spade and head to the beach…in the city!
Get your winter skates on
Of course, if you’re not visiting Paris in the height of summer, then don’t fret – the winter brings fun for the kids too! From December to March, the City of Light is alive with seasonal ice skating rinks, from in front of the Montparnasse tower to on the streets of the Champs-Elysées. The most popular rink to head to is Patinoire de L’Hôtel de Ville where the beautiful 19th century building makes for a Christmassy atmosphere. So whether you’re a pro skater or simply a beginner, it will be hours of fun for all the family. Just remember to wrap up warm!
